1. Not taking your make up off before bed
This is a big beauty no no. Now everyone’s done it, no ones judging….but now is the time to vow to stop doing it. Going to bed with your makeup on can cause products to build up and this can lead to breakouts In reality, it only takes a few minutes to wash your face and this will help your complexion stay clear.
2. Plastering the products on
It can be tempting to put every product you own on your face each morning but in reality these products can actually end up fighting each other or cause skin irritation when combined.
3. Neglecting your neck
It holds up your head why would you neclect it? Your neck is often forgotten about in beauty regimens. Make sure that you cleanse and moisturise your neck as well as your face. However, do be wary not to put harsh products containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid or retinol on your neck as this area is more easily irritated and delicate.
4. Don’t squeeze that spot!
It can be tempting to try and get rid of the spot resembling Mount Etna on your face immediately. However, squeezing spots can cause the bacteria to spread and in some cases result in scarring. If you are going to do it, make sure you only squeeze spots with a white head (not if there just red), with clean hands a tissue and clean the area afterwards.
5. Not cleaning your brushes
Your makeup brushes and sponges are a breeding ground for bacteria. Rinse brushes with lukewarm water once a month and make sure they dry off properly. You can even add a drop of shampoo in the water if you think your brushes need it.
