Homemade Beauty Remedies
Ah, the weekend! Is there a better time to laze around and pamper your skin after a long week’s work? And with skin constantly exposed to cold, wind and rain, how good does it feel to slip into a comfortable robe and slather on a refreshing and nourishing face mask?
A spa would be great of course, but it’s not always an option. Luckily, there are plenty of quick homemade beauty remedies which will leave your skin glowing, as soft as a baby’s bottom and don’t break the bank! Using only natural ingredients will give your skin a welcome respite from man made chemicals too.
Here are some of our favourites.
Grape Facial
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp completly mashed purple grapes
- 1 tbsp milk, 3 tbsp baking soda or baking powder
- 1 tbsp honey
Method:
Mash well togetherwith a hand blender and massage directly on your face in a circular motion and apply to neck. Leave it for 30 minutes, then rinse. Be gentle on the more sensitive parts of your face and the parts that break out by not putting too much pressure. Wash off with warm water.
Soothing and tightening mask
Ingredients:
- 1 egg white and
- 2 tbsp yogurt
Method: Mix together and apply to face with an old foundation brush. Leave the mix on for fifteen minutes and wash off with warm water.
- 1 tbsp of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
Use as a scrub. Wash off with warm water.
For Dry Skin: Honey and Egg Mask
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon almond oil
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
Put all ingredients into a large bowl and stir until it becomes sticky and thick. Apply the mask to your face for 5 minutes and wash face thoroughly with a mild facial soap. Honey stimulates and smoothes, egg and almond oil penetrate and moisturize, and yogurt refines and tightens pores.
