The 30 Day Squat Challenge is an extremely popular exercise craze at the moment and has been whizzing all round the internet. Did we want to do some further research to find out if, after all that work, is it worth it? What is the 30 Day Squat Challenge?
The 30-day Squat Challenge is a 30-day exercise plan that is designed to help shape your bottoms and legs! It begins with 50 squats on Day 1 and it increases to 250 squats by day 30, with rest days every 4 days. What we like most about this challenge is that you can complete it anywhere – in front of the TV in the evening for example. It is structured in a way to make it both challenging but also manageable. This makes it easier for people of all fitness abilities to get involved.
Why are squats so good?
Squatting is such a great exercise to do because it targets so many muscles at one time. It It is only through working the muscles in your glutes for example that you will achieve the round feminine derriere that you desire!
When squats are done properly they provide a great workout for the glutes and hamstrings (the back of the leg). While also putting the quadriceps to work (the front of the leg).
As well as the obvious strengthening and toning that squats promote. They can also improve abdominal and back strength, burn calories from all the muscles involved and promote general flexibility.
How do you do a squat properly and safely?
Always do squats in a controlled manner and it is so important to think about your posture each time you do a squat. You should always maintain your posture so as to avoid injuries. Knee and back pain are indicators that you are doing too much or not doing something correctly. If you cannot do the daily total then just do as many as you can. Does the challenge work?
Judging by the before and after photos, we’ve seen – definitely! This is quite an intense amount of squats to do each day (Day 30 is the stuff of nightmares!). So we would be disappointed if there weren’t any results seen! Remember to combine these squats with your normal exercise routine and continue eating well. If you do this then the results will no doubt amaze you after 30 days! It is also a great challenge in the sense that it gets you motivated to do exercise on a daily basis and this is a great habit to get into.
