What Body Type Are You?
Did you ever notice that some people seem to be very naturally slim or naturally slightly bigger? This isn’t your imagination. It’s true that a persons genes affect their body shapes. Keep reading to discover some more information about the three main body types and to see which one best describes you.
Ectomorph
These are those who have a naturally slim body type. They usually have a very fast metabolism and a delicate, thin build. A person with an ectomorph body type will have less fat and muscle mass than people with other body types and actually find it quite difficult to put on weight. The perfect example of an ectomorph body type is a naturally slim fashion model.
Celebrity examples: Cameron Diaz, Kate Moss, Gisele Bunchen.
Mesomorph
A mesomorh is muscular and can increase muscle quite easily and quicker than the other body types. They are quite well developed, rectangular shapes of mesomorphs are representative of their thick bones and muscles.
Mesomorphs tend to store fat evenly over their bodies but can become overweight if they are sedentary or have a high-calorie diet.
Celebrity examples: Halle Berry, Venus Williams, Madonna.
Endomorph
Those with an endomorph body type always find it much harder to lose weight. They are best described as ‘pear shaped’ with wide hips and shoulders. They have a heavier fat accumulation and less muscle definition.
Celebrity examples: Beyonce Knowles, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopex.
Combinations
You most probably don’t fit one of these above body types exactly but you are more than likely able to identify yourself more with one over the other two. You can overlap with these predominate body types and be, for example ‘endo-mesomosphic’ or ‘meso-ectomorph.’
