Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live in rural Lancashire with my husband and three-year-old son. I love the outdoors and spend most of my time out and about, walking mainly. I love good food and am a supporter of local producers. I like a quiet evening in with a good film, or the company of friends. I also like a good laugh!
What’s your occupation and age?
I am 38 and work as a science lecturer and also help out with the family business of a smokehouse.
What attracted you to join InstructorLive?
I felt that my health was not as good as it should be and I needed something to fit with my lifestyle. I live in a rural location and getting to a gym is just not practical, especially with a young boy.
I tried to find classes I could do at home on the internet or DVD but these were not of great quality and quite impersonal. I found that there were human beings to communicate with on InstructorLive and combined with the nutrition advice and wide range of classes, meant that I could have a realistic goal and know there was someone there to support that.
Did you have any specific goals when you first signed up?
I knew that if I changed my diet and increased my exercise levels then I would lose weight and with this improve my general health and feel better about the way I look. “Drop a jeans size” became my main goal.
What do you love most about your InstructorLive membership?
So many things! The range of classes, all of which are to different levels and times, so I can always fit something in. The recipe ideas and of course having the body transformation coach to help with motivation.
Have you noticed any changes or results since you first joined InstructorLive?
I first noticed that I was less lethargic and felt good. I have now lost over a stone in weight with 3 inches loss on my hips and 1.5 inches lost on my waist. I have certainly dropped a jeans size, from being in size 14, now a 12.
What advice would you give someone just starting out with InstructorLive?
If you ever get to a point where you lack motivation, contact the Instructor Live team as they are happy to help. Also, try a few different classes, I tried ones I would never have considered such as dance fitness, but these are great. And if you do get stressed I can highly recommend the Meditation class.
What’s the most recent program you’ve completed?
I have been working on the beginners The Promise.
What did you think of the program?
Having done little exercise since the birth of my son, this program builds up gradually but keeps the challenge going, love it!
At any point, did you want to give up? If so, what kept you motivated and coming back from more?
Never, it’s addictive.
What results have you achieved from the program, both mentally and physically?
I noticed the exercise was not only helping my physical fitness but my mental fitness too. I felt that if I did not do something about my weight it would affect my future health and wellbeing. Fitness is now a hobby and not at all a chore.
In a sentence or two, what have you got most out of your InstructorLive membership?
I finally feel good about myself and without the structure and support of InstructorLive, I would not have achieved my goal.
